MIAMI, FL- In a time when networking must be a top priority for students, a the new UM student chapter of the Dade County Bar Association offers exciting opportunities for students to mingle with members of the law community, both attorney and judge alike. UM chapter Co-Founder and President, Abbigail Webb, hailed the event as a great success and one of many events soon to come from the organization, “Networking while in law school is a great way to become part of a community of colleagues before you even begin your career. It gives you support in your transition from student to lawyer. “
On a steamy Friday evening, attorneys and students could be seen cooling off sipping on frosty fresh fruit mojitos and mingling with new friends and old at Tarpon Bend in Coral Gables. Students were given the opportunity to converse with working professionals in a casual atmosphere, one which a law school environment rarely provides. Equal numbers of students and legal professionals were in attendance, giving students the opportunity to ask some one on one questions.
Networking Around the Bend was the first of many events on tap for the organization. Future events include, monthly happy hours and an attorney/student dinner scheduled for the spring.
